The virgin rainforest of Manu is stunningly beautiful and fortunately nearly untouched by civilization. Descending from the high Andes, our biking route travels along breathtaking vistas as we descend through lush cloud forest before reaching the tropical rainforest of the upper Amazon. In addition to bike rides, enjoy motorboat rides on the Manu River to observe the famous macaw clay-lick, and a scenic train ride from historical Cusco to the magnificent ruins of Machu Picchu.
Visiting Manu National Park is a fascinating experience. Designated a World Heritage Site in 1987, it is legendary for being home to the world's greatest biodiversity. This remote rainforest park is Peru's largest, and is home to well over 15,000 species of plant life, perhaps a million insects, 200 species of mammals, 15 species of monkeys - more than another place on earth, and more than 1,000 species of birds. An excellent adventure for nature lovers, as the jungle of Manu is one of the best places for viewing wildlife in all of South America.
